Catastrophic Rehabilitation Consultant

  • Evaluate claims through review of medical reports, on-site file reviews, and consultation with rehabilitation providers
  • Provide guidance to WCRA staff and members on developing effective medical and rehabilitation management of serious/catastrophic injury claims reported to the WCRA
  • Make recommendations on possible medical and rehabilitation outcomes
  • Develop strategies and programs aimed at cost-effective medical and rehabilitation management
  • Compile, analyze, and distribute cost and outcome information about serious/catastrophic injuries
  • Act as a liaison between the WCRA and the medical and rehabilitation providers
  • Develop and provide educational materials, training programs, and information on current developments in medical and rehabilitation management
  • Occasional travel 


  • A Licensure as a Registered Nurse OR other relevant medical background (e.g. occupational therapist, physical therapist, etc.) OR certified life care planner
  • Five years of experience working with catastrophic injuries
  • Certification as a CCM or CDMS required
  • Three years of experience with Minnesota workers’ compensation claims preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to set and manage priorities and work independently
  • Ability to apply creative, analytical thinking and problem solving skills to balance the needs and perspectives of various parties
